Me and My Health Provider Campaign 2025

Me and My Healthcare Provider Campaign

When Mokete Sedutla was struggling to accept her HIV status, she felt isolated and uncertain about her future—until she met Cathrine Kgothatso Ramodipa, a peer educator at Matsi Clinic, who became her lifeline. Healthcare providers like Cathrine are transforming the lives of young people by creating safe, supportive environments. HIV-related stigma and discrimination—especially in healthcare settings—remain major barriers to ending the HIV pandemic. PATA, in partnership with IAS (the International AIDS Society) and Gilead Sciences Inc., continues to honour these champions through the Me and My Healthcare Provider Campaign.

This year, the campaign invites caregivers of children living with HIV—as well as adolescents and young people living with HIV in South Africa—to nominate healthcare providers who go above and beyond: those who are welcoming, supportive, and consistently provide friendly, youth-responsive services. We want to celebrate nurses, counsellors, doctors, social workers, pharmacists, and other frontline providers who are #DoingTheRightThing by delivering quality HIV prevention, treatment, and care to children, adolescents, and young people.
