PATA HEALTHCARE PROVIDER CHAMPIONS ADVOCACY TOOLKIT
This PATA Advocacy Toolkit has been developed to assist healthcare providers in the PATA Network to be champions for children, adolescents, and young people* living with and affected by HIV in Africa.
This resource serves as a practical training workbook for healthcare providers to develop and strengthen advocacy skills and be empowered to advocate to bridge HIV service delivery and treatment gaps. The toolkit provides an overview of PATA’s advocacy goals as well as messaging that can be used to support action to address inequities and ongoing barriers that impact reaching targets and improving quality service access.
The toolkit is framed within the broad goals and four pillars of the Global Alliance to End AIDS in Children by 2030.
By working through this resource, you will learn how to: define advocacy, explain your role as a champion for children, adolescents, and young people, learn how to work with local communities, identify opportunities for advocacy, develop key messages, and implement advocacy campaigns at a local and national level.
You will also see that much of what you already do in your everyday work, is advocacy!
Let’s continue to Do it Right, Do it Together, Do it Now!
