Prioritising Children, Adolescents and Caregivers Affected by HIV in the COVID-19 Response
COVID-19 is having catastrophic and lasting consequences for millions of children, adolescents and caregivers affected by HIV and AIDS. We must act now. If not, the precious gains made in the fight against HIV and AIDS will be reversed. And those already made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS will be further impacted by both COVID-19 and its consequences.
This policy brief is for global donors and policy makers. It sets out what global policy changes are required, based on the latest evidence related to children and adolescents affected by HIV, and those working alongside them. It is championed by the Coalition for Children affected by AIDS (the Coalition) – an independent group of thought leaders from across UN, donor, NGO and academic communities.
