“The Global Advanced HIV Disease Toolkit” is a comprehensive resource designed to support the effective implementation of the World Health Organization’s recommended package of care for people with Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) in Africa. Developed through collaboration under the AHD Implementation Steering Committee, the toolkit is guided by principles focusing on current WHO recommendations, targeting Ministries of Health, communities, frontline healthcare workers, and partners. Divided into six sections, it covers the basics of AHD, patient literacy, programmatic tools, training materials, and job aids. Noteworthy features include a newly introduced Advanced HIV Disease Commodity Calculator, patient literacy materials such as posters and booklets, and practical training slides and videos. This toolkit serves as a valuable asset for planning, training, and facilitating the rollout of AHD care in diverse healthcare settings.
