Community Pulse

The Community Pulse Project is designed to strengthen community-led organisations, equipping them with the tools and support needed to deliver services effectively. A key component of this initiative is the Community Pulse Tool, a framework that enables organisations to conduct a Rapid Self-Assessment, evaluating their capacity across 10 key areas: Governance, Planning, Finance, Sustainability, Human Resources, Monitoring & Evaluation, Security & Risk Mitigation, Advocacy, Community Rights, and Gender.

With the support of local and regional consultants, organisations engage in structured capacity assessments to identify priority areas for growth and develop tailored Action Plans for Capacity Building. These plans are backed by technical assistance, ensuring that organisations not only assess their strengths and challenges but also receive the guidance and resources needed to enhance their work and build their capacity.

The Community Pulse Project empowers community-led organisations to strengthen governance, sustainability, and service delivery—building stronger, more resilient healthcare responses.

The project is being implemented across Africa, East Asia, and Latin America, with PATA leading efforts in Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Zambia. In each country, the Global Fund country teams and in country partners recommend 3 to 5 community-led organisations, ensuring that those most in need of capacity building receive targeted support.

Running from October 2024 to December 2025, the project will conclude with a follow-up assessment in October 2025, measuring progress and impact. The Community Pulse Project is funded by the Global Fund and led by PAS Centre in partnership with PATA.
